Stop At: Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House), Sultaniye Mahallesi, Selcuk 35100 Turkey
You will then visit the House of the Virgin Mary, where Mary spent the last days of her life. The house was discovered in the 19th century after the repeated visions of a Catholic nun, Anne Catherine Emmerich, were published in a book. When the ruins of the house were discovered, a small shrine dedicated to St Mary was found there

Sirince Village, a pretty old Orthodox village 12 km from Ephesus, was once known as Cirkince (“ugly”). It is rumoured to be named Ugly to keep foreigners away from this quaint village and keep its small-town charm. After many years, visitors discovered that the village was not ugly at all and called it Sirince (“pretty”).
