you visit to archaeological open air museum Ephesus which is known as one of the largest and well-preserved Greco-Roman ancient city. It can be said clearly Ephesus one of the most beautiful ancient city in the world. The city was foremost commercial center of the antiguity with its harbor which is located on the Aegean coast. Being witness is priceless that Ephesus was foremost in the world before its coast was silted up by the river which is located nearby of it. Because of that Ephesus is approximately 8 kms away from aegean coast to day.

Stop At: Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House), Sultaniye Mahallesi, Selcuk 35100 Turkey

Next stop is to visit The House of Virgin Mary, the place where it is believed that she had spent last years of her life. It is considered that St. John brought Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and that a small house was built for her on Bulbul Mountain. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited The House of Virgin Mary and declared one of the pilgrimage center.

Then drive to the Temple of Artemis which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, although there is one single column left today, magnificient temple had been built for the goddess of fertility and hunters, Artemis, known as Diana after city passed under the rule of Romans.

Terrace Houses was seven diffrent royal palaces where was located at the city center. The houses were inhabited from 3C BC to 7C AD. Terrace houses is another museum which is coverd by tent in Ephesus and has other entrance. Visitinig the trarrace houses is not included in Ephesus ticket. Another entrance fee is requested for visiting. Terrace houses of Ephesus is one of the most well-preserved ancient royal places in the world. Seven diffrent houses are built on four thousant square meters and richly decorated by mosaics on the floor and many frescoes on its walls. Each houses has its own inner courdyard which is surrounded by pillars. According to arhaeological evidence each houses have its own central water system and central heating system which is called hippocaust system in antiguity.
