The Meskendir Valley trek, near Ortahisar, is 4400 m in length. The valley features the Meskendir Church, with its magnificent red embellishments and ceiling engraved with a large cross. There is dining hall in the north of the building.

One of the most unforgettable valleys in the region is Rose Valley, with its rosy rock walls changing color depending on the time of day. Between the orchards, vineyards, rock churches and fairy chimneys, Rose Valley provides endless opportunities for exploration.

Cavusin Village is one of the oldest cave house villages in the region. Set apart from the new city, the old cave houses are a labyrinth of ruins cut into the rock face. The Church of John the Baptist, dating back to the fifth century,is the biggest cave church in all of Cappadocia.

Cappadocia contains a breathtaking 36 underground cities, leftover from the days when Christians took refuge from persecution. Kaymakli is the widest of those cities, with eight levels total and four levels open for exploration. The interior is dotted with kitchens, wineries and storage spaces.

A stop on the outskirts of Goreme reveals Pigeon Valley, with centuries-old pigeon houses carved from the cliffs. In those times, many farmers used pigeon manure as fertilizer for their crops.

The troglodyte town Uchisar situates itself right in the middle of Cappadocia. An enormous piece of rock in the center of town was once used as a castle, giving the town its name. This extraordinary rock is the highest peak of the area, providing views of the whole of Cappadocia and the Erciyes (Argeus) Mountain.
