Çarşamba Trip Overview

Departing in the morning from the hotel. we visit Giresun Castle, then ( As an optional alternative we can visit the tomb of The Lame Osman who was the one of the famous person of the City Ordu during World War I). our journey takes us through the spectacular scenery of the Pontic Mountains as we make our way inland up a narrow valley to the Sumela Monastery. Seeming to cling to a sheer rock face high above steep and heavily wooded slopes, the monastery was founded in the 6th century to house an icon of the Virgin Mary, supposedly painted by St. Luke the Evangelist. The monastery was inhabited by Greek Orthodox monks until 1923 when the Greeks were expelled from Turkey in an exchange of populations. The monastery still contains many frescoes of Biblical scenes. Later on we drive you up to Zigana Mountain, crossing the mountain with spectacular views of villages on Pontic Mountains. We arrive at Gümüshane to visit Karaca Cave, considered the most beautiful in Turkey for its colours

Day 1: SAMSUN

Pass By: Samsun, Samsun, Turkish Black Sea Coast
After arriving at Samsun Carsamba Airport, we transfer you to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Samsun 4* HOTEL Included Meals: (Dinner)

Day 2: SAMSUN-ORDU-GİRESUN

Stop At: Samsun Kent Muzesi, Zafer Mah cumhuriyet cad no:35, Samsun Turkey
After breakfast, We have a sightseeing in Samsun and visit arceological museum especially the mosaic floor that was discovered at Amisos (ancient city of Samsun) after lunch drive to Ordu. while enjoying the impressive combination of the nature, forest and black sea. Visiting the church which is built by King of the Pontus Farnakes I. The Amazons has been used the church as a temple. Later we will watch the city Ordu bird’s-eye view from Boztepe (485m). After visiting drive to Giresun.

Day 3: GİRESUN-MAÇKA-SÜMELA-GÜMÜŞHANE-ZİGANA

Day 4: TRABZON-UZUNGÖL

Stop At: Trabzon Hagia Sophia Museum, Fatih Mah.Ayasofya Sok. Merkez Karadeniz manzarali, sahil karşisi., Trabzon 61080 Turkey
After breakfast we drive to Trabzon the birth place of Suleyman the Magnificent. In the 13th Century, Trabzon was the centre of a prosperous Christian empire and contains some beautiful churches, including the beautiful church of Hagia Sophia. built in the mid 13th century as a monastery church and later converted to a mosque after the Ottoman conquest of 1461. Later used by the Turks as a military storehouse and a fever hospital, it is now a museum with magnificent frescoes covering its walls. Outside the city we will visit Ataturk’s beautiful summer mansion situated high on a hillside overlooking the Black Sea. Then drive to Uzungöl. It’s a hidden paradise in the Pontic Alps. We hike around the lake and village

Day 5: CAMLIHEMSIN-AYDER

Stop At: Ayder Yaylasi, Camlihemsin 53890 Turkey
Today we are leaving from Uzungöl. Short break at Rize for panoramic view of the city from the Botany Garden, we visit kiwi and tea plantations here, then we arrive to Firtina (Storm) Valley which takes us to Ayder Plateau. Before arriving in Ayder we will see Camlihemsin, Senyuva Bridge, we arrive in Ayder before sundown, gentle trekking to Gelintülü Fall which is the most beautiful in the region

Day 6: AYDER-SARP-TRABZON

Today we have time to explore the beautiful Alpine Plateau of Ayder until noon. Traditionally dressed village ladies, thermal springs, waterfalls dropping down from hundreds metres and beautiful plateau houses are going to be interest of you. In the afternoon we drive to Turkish – Georgian border on Eastern Black Sea coast, after viewing Georgia from Sarpi Gate, we drive along the Black Sea coast back to Trabzon Airport for a homebound flight and say farewell.
