This tour, which is prepared for those who want to know the city of Bodrum and learn thousands of years of it’s history, is active every day except Mondays (April 1 – November 30). After meeting with your guide, we walk in the narrow streets of the city of Halicarnassus – where Herodotus, the Father of History, once wandered. We visit the city’s corridors from past to present. First visit is to Zeki Müren Museum- former house of the well known Turkish singer who was resident of Bodrum and than we stroll around the historical houses with interesting architecture in the Cretan neighborhood. We proceed to Naval Museum and we listen to the story of sailors and sponge-hunters identified with the history of the city and see one of the world’s most important collection of sea shells. Visit the Mausoleum-one of the 7 Wonders of the World, and watch the breathtaking view of Bodrum from the Antique Theater. We see the windmills, cisterns and many other works of the Ottoman era in this tour.

Bodrum Castle was built by the St. Jean Knights on the site of a Turkish Castle built by sailors of the Menteşe Principality in 1261-1269 on a peninsula which came into being in 1st century A.D. when an island known as Zephyra during the Stone Age joined the mainland.
