Itinerary
Day 1: From Antalya to Cappadocia
Stop At: Sultan Han, SultanhanI, Nevsehir 68000 Turkey
You will stop at Sultan Han on the way from Antalya to Cappadocia. Sultan Han used to function as a ‘motel’ back in Seljuk and Ottoman Empire times. Merchants who were travelling around Anatolia were able to spend the night in these Hans (or Kervansaray) They were able to find food and their animals (mostly camels or horses) were being accomodated in studfarm sections.

Stop At: Cappadocia, Cappadocia
After arriving to Cappadocia, your tour guide will take you to a panaromic spot and tell about the history of Cappadocia. After the history part, your guide will be serving you local wine to enjoy this amazing view.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Cappadocia – Return to Antalya
Stop At: Pasabag, Urgup Turkey
Early birds have the option of taking a hot air balloon over the otherworldly Cappadocian landscape. The scene at sunrise is sure to take your breath away. Your tour guide will give you information about joining this optional activity on day 1.
After a great breakfast at your hotel, you will be led by your tour guide to Paşabağ, Pasabag in Cappadocia is located on the road to Zelve, coming from Goreme or Avanos. Highly remarkable earth pillars can be seen here, in the middle of a vineyard, hence the name of the place which means: the Pacha’s vineyard. Pacha means “General”, the military rank, in Turkish and it is a very common nick name. This site is also called Monks Valley. The name was derived from some cones carved in tuff stones which stand apart. Currently, there is a vineyard and a number of tuff cones standing right next to the road.

Stop At: Zelve Open Air Museum, Zelve Yolu, Nevsehir Turkey
Next, you will be visiting Zelve Open Air Museum. Zelve Open-Air Museum, which once housed one of the largest communities in the region is an amazing cave town, honeycombed with dwellings, religious and secular chambers. Here, the Christians and Muslims lived together in perfect harmony, until 1924. Then Christians had to leave the Valley because of the exchange of minorities between Greece and Turkey, and the Muslims were forced to evacuate the Valley in the 50’s when life became dangerous due to risk of erosion. They left the site to set up a modern village, a little further on, to which they gave the name Yeni Zelve (New Zelve).

Stop At: Ozkonak Underground City, Nevsehir Turkey
After lunch, head toward the red river of Avanos and descend to Ozkonak, an underground city hollowed out of tufa rock that dates back to 400 BC. Explore this unique city, including the crude communication system that allowed signals to be sent between all ten levels. Return to the surface and visit a local potter. Discover the rich clay from the red river and watch how it is moulded into exquisite pieces
