What makes Gourmet Tour: A Taste Of Aegean a unique experience ?

As Sirince is so well-known for fresh produce, it’s no surprise that the food you’ll eat here is notable. The village breakfast is some of the best Turkish breakfast you’ll ever eat, with an endless array of cheeses and olives and tomatoes and cucumbers and jams and more. Local herbs are used in many of the more substantial meals, picked from the hills and often cooked using local olive oil.

Turkish coffee is brewed using a pan filled with sand that’s then heated over an open flame. The sand lets the cups on the surface stay warm and the heat used for brewing the coffee is adjusted using the depth of the coffee in the sand. The coffee is heated up on the hot sand. This method is local and traditional and makes the coffee taste strong, thick and delicious.

Known throughout Turkey for wine tasting and production, it’s mountainside location is perfect for seeing natural Turkey and all through the village are shops where you can put your wine tasting skills to the test.

Originating from Turkey’s Aegean region, çöp şis is a kebab variety which can be literally translated as trash shish or garbage shish. Despite its unusual name, this delicious dish is made with roasted lamb scraps and fat, the leftovers from trimming the meat for the classic shish kebab.

The meat is traditionally flavored with garlic and tomatoes, marinated in a combination of olive oil, oregano, and black pepper, then placed on split wood skewers and quickly roasted. And that translated name mentioned earlier, garbage shish, is believed to refer either to the small wooden skewers or the fact that the dish is made with scraps and leftovers.

This kebab variety is typically served as an appetizer before the main meal, preferably with spicy green peppers on the side.

Midye dolma, or stuffed mussels, Turkey’s favorite street and beach food.

Baklava is among the most common sweets to serve for special occasions in modern-day Turkey and Greece and some Balkan countries.

Today, as a Turkish foods family, we will share a delicious kokoreç recipe with you. Kokoreç has a very important place in Turkish cuisine. We can almost say that it is one of the indispensable flavors of Turkish cuisine. It is both loved and consumed a lot by people in Turkey. There are even kokorec addicts. In Turkey, kokorec is sold on the streets or in kokorec restaurants.
