Hierapolis Ancient City is one of the most important and frequently visited ancient cities for in Turkey and special structure of this place always fascinate the tourists. Today, it continues its life as a magnificent historical area located right next to the travertines of Pamukkale. Hierapolis Ancient City is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List with all these wonderful features. In the ancient city of Hierapolis, the Roman bath, Hierapolis (Pamukkale) archaeology museum, Ancient pool (Cleopatra swimming pool), Apollon Lairbenos temple, Necropolis, St Philip holy area and the ancient theatre are among the ruins that should be visited here.

Stop At: Cleopatra Pools, Pamukkale Turkey
Cleopatra Antique Pool; Situated above the Pamukkale white travertine pools is one particularly spectacular location fed by the same hot springs. Here you can bath in the same waters in which Cleopatra once swam! A professionally run modern spa facility allows you to enjoy these historical healing waters.
Unlike the white water of the lower pools the Antique Pool favored by Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, is pure clear warm water. Once it was surmounted by a Roman Temple to Apollo with an ornate roof held up with Doric columns. Imagine how Cleopatra must have experienced this when you imagine it in its glory day.

It is located in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.
