We will meet at the beginning of The Hippodrome Area and visit monuments from Roman period. Also we will talk about importance of the Hippodrome in social and political life of Roman and Ottoman periods.

His ancestors build magnificent mosques and complexes, do I.Ahmet also wanted to have one. But why with six towers?(minarets) We will visit this beatifull imperial mosque which sembolize Clasical Period of Ottoman Mosque Architecture History.

if you visit istanbul first time and have a chance to see only one place then it must be Hagia Sophia! Complited in 537AD as a patriarchal church and then transform to a mousque in 1453 and then used as a museum for a while in 20th century and again, one more time it is a mosque. With the sembols and details and a long history behind the building, you will have better perception about the building after our visit. We will visit second floor and see all those beatifull mosaic icons which were art of Byzantine Empire once open a time.

We will visit Topkapi Palace where sultans were ruling the empire centuries. Topkapı Palace is the biggest palace and museum in Istanbul. There are three courtyards and gardens, rooms with exhibitions for weaponry, clothes of sultans, holly relics of islam, treasury… We will talk about how Ottmans became most strongest empire in the world and how they lost their power.

We will give a break for lunch about one hour after visiting The Palace.

After lunch break we will visit one of the most popular structure in the town: The Basilic Cistern. Romans buildid this enormous underground structure only for one purpose: to store the water! We will visit this structure and talk about structural features and its history.

When Ottomans conquered the city, Sultan II.Mehmed builded a little bazaar calls bedesten. He cared about the trade and invited other kingdoms to the city to improve the trade. For ceturies, Istanbul became the central of the world because of that. It is one of the biggest old covered bazaar in the world. We will visit the bazaar and finish our tour near to one of the gate of The Bazaar.

  • Since these places are most popular places in Istanbul, there might be some waiting time for the ticket purchasing or for security check points. As a guide I have already allowance “skip the line” for Topkapi Palace and Basilic Cistern but for Hagia Sophia I do not have that right. Also if you do not wish to pay entry fees and visit inside of the places(Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilic Cistern) we can walk around and I can explain the history of those structures.
