Istanbul Haunted Walking Tour

This is Istanbul’s first and only Haunted Walking Tour! Listen to the dark stories of the Byzantine Middle Ages with our talented storytellers. Walk in the footsteps of those who were here before through dimly lit streets with lanterns lighting the way. Istanbul is the center of two great Empires where the past and the paranormal intertwine. Journey through the shadows of the hippodrome, investigate Roman ruins and a recently discovered 6th century underground Byzantine church and holy spring. This tour is two hours long with many stops for resting, and investigating along the way. Join us for a fun and spooky evening.

We have several locations in and around the hippodrome where we will be stopping to investigate and hear the stories of massacres, deadly riots, and executions exactly where they happened. Walk down dimly lit streets to visit the ruins and hear the spooky tales of imprisonment and punishment that took place there. From the 4th century to the 16th century this area has been the center of two great empires where there stories and energy live on.

Underneath a hotel in the center of what was the Great Palace of Constantinople is a sixth century church has not been touched for almost a thousand years. Here is one of the ancient holy springs of Constantinople where Emperors, priests and pilgrims came to drink of the holy water be cleansed from
sin and shame. Above this holy underground chapel is the ground floor where this ancient monastery once held the most holy relics of the Eastern Roman Empire. We will do some EVP sessions and take turns entering the underground chapel and holy spring. Investigate with EMF detectors, recording devices and black lights and lasers.

Walk through the area known previously as the Great Palace of Constantinople. This is the area where the Emperors of the Eastern Roman Empire lived for centuries with their imperial court. Here we will visit the locations of the imperial cistern and the outside of the mosaic museum. We will learn about the plague that decimated the city and investigate the ruins of a ramp tower in the Great Palace.
