Stop At: Bursa, Bursa
Despite its smaller size, many of Bursa’s Ottoman landmarks rival those of Istanbul. Best of all, this lush city, known as “Green Bursa”, rests at the base of Mt. Uludag, a forested peak once thought to be the mythical Mt. Olympus. Enjoy a magical day of incomparable architectural wonders and natural beauty.
We travel by ferry to Yalova, then by luxury coach to the city of Bursa, which dates back to the 2nd century B.C. The first capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa is one of the greatest treasure houses of Islamic architecture.
The Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum will be the first stop in Bursa, both built by 5th Ottoman Sultan Mehmet Çelebi in 15th century. Then we will climb up Uludag Mountain by cable car and enjoy the magnificent view. Passing through spectacular scenery of forested mountains, the top of the mountain 2,486 metres above sea level and the air feels extremely fresh!
A tasty barbecue lunch will be served while in Uludag.
In the afternoon the tour visits a beautiful, ancient plane tree which is more than 600 years old. Whilst on the way back to Istanbul, there will be a break at one of the most famous Turkish delight factory’s which Bursa is well known for.
Late evening return to Istanbul and transfer to hotels.
